42 bands from all over the country are to descend on Southport to take part in the resort's biggest-ever 'battle of the bands' competition.
Throughout April and May, bands and solo artists will showcase at Cafe Matisse, aiming to win the £1000 top prize.
Cut Out Productions, who regularly hold successful nights at the Cambridge Walks bar, are hosting the competition - dubbed 'Band Royale'.
The qualifiers start on April 18 with 6 acts going head-to-head every Friday night. Judges will select one act to progress from each qualifying group, the audience will vote to choose another.
Dates for the contests are thus...all nights begin at 8pm.
Pool A:
Round 1: Qualifiers: April 8, April 25th, May 2nd and May 9th
Round 2: Quarter Finals: June 13th and June 14th
Round 3: Semi Finals: June 27th
Round 4: Final: July 11th
Pool B:
Round 1: Qualifiers: May 16th, May 23rd, May 30th and June 6th
Round 2: Quarter Finals: June 20 and June 21st
Round 3: Semi Finals: July 4th
Round 4: Final: July 11th
