BELL X1 - TOUR DE FLOCK
Tour De Flock is the first live album and DVD by Bell X1 - better known as Damien Rice's old band. Don't be mistaken though, Bell X1 are a cracking band in their own right and deserve far more success than they currently enjoy,
Tour De Flock encompasses three studio albums and highlights the strength of their live shows. Watching the DVD you'll understand why they are one of Ireland's biggest bands.
And the mystery of why Bell X1's 'Music in Mouth' and 'Flock' weren't bigger albums outside of Ireland only grows when you see/hear these live songs.
Currently on a tour of the States, Bell X1's songs have featured on hit shows The OC and One Tree Hill.
Certainly check out Music In Mouth - a simply mesmerizing album filled with beautiful tunes and poignant Catholicised lyrics.

CHARLIE WINSTON - MAKE WAY
Charlie Winston is currently doing the rounds on TV - as a voiceover for a dog on VW adverts...see HERE...but is also a terrifically versatile singer-songwriter.
Far from the James Blunt mawkishness that currently rules the roosts, Winston is lively, funky and soulful. Check out 'Like A Hobo', 'Calling Me' and the best song I've heard in years, 'Boxes'.

SPEECHWRITERS LLC - THE BULL MOOSE AFTER PARTY
Speechwriters LLC, an unassuming acoustic pop group from Claremont, California, have enough charm and lyrical prowess to catch even the most jaded listener's undivided attention and hold it for days.
What began as a two man coffeehouse act has slowly but surely evolved into a bona fide underground phenomenon.
The Bull Moose After Party showcases their diverse songsmanship, mixing elements lap steel guitar, keyboards, and intricate, layered vocal harmonies to their traditionally introspective lyrics.

THE SWELL SEASON - GLEN HANSARD & MARKETA IRGLOVA
Any album with an Oscar-winning song on it is bound to be passable - The Swell Season is more than that.
Songs from the album feature in the hit indie film 'Once' in which Hansard and Irglova feature - song Falling Slowly won the Oscar.
Hansard is more famous for being the frontman in seminal Irish band, The Frames, and featuring in early 90s Dublin film, The Commitments.

CHRIS AYER - THIS IS THE PLACE
I had the pleasure of touring with Chris in February - and was taken aback by the quality of his debut album.
Chris Ayer won the prestigious Lennon Award in Folk for his song "Evaporate" and is now in the running to be the Maxell Song Of The Year.
This Is The Place, was recorded in Nashville and produced by Jason Gantt. Ayer's uniquely poetic and direct songwriting remains steadfast; it is a travelling album about looking to feel at home in the world.
Though Chris's recordings speak for themselves, it's a live performance where this music comes to life.
